第一单元《节日和庆典:阅读与写作》教学设计

一、设计意图

本课内容为人教版必修三第一单元阅读课Festivals and celebrations的拓展写作课,重点是通过学习课文,延伸与春节相关的英文词汇、短语及活动的表达,引导学生学会运用332写作模式介绍家乡传统节日——春节,将中国传统文化融入高中英语课堂中,传承中国优秀传统文化,提高学生的文化意识和文化自信,锻炼学生的思维品格。

二、学生分析

授课对象为高一年级的普通班学生,多数学生来自农村,经过一学期的学习,学生掌握了一定的听说读写技能,但英语基础相对较薄弱,词汇量较少,对传统文化的英文积累不够,输出能力还有待提高。本节课呈现关于春节的图片,激发学生的学习兴趣,学习相应的春节习俗,在写作中运用332模式向外国朋友介绍家乡节日。

三、核心素养具体表现

(2)掌握与春节相关的表达及词汇、短语和句型,提高学生的词汇量。

(1)引导学生在写作中学会运用332写作模式;

(2)学会用英文介绍春节包括来源、习俗及相关日常活动,提高学生运用英语的综合能力。

加深学生对中国传统节日春节的了解,继承和弘扬我国传统文化。

4.思维品格

通过小组讨论和合作等形式培养学生的交际和团队合作能力。

七、教学过程

Step 1预习先知 Revision and prevision

Review what have been learnt in last period.

Step2 新知导学

Activity 1 Brainstorm

Ask the students to think about the following question :

What is the longest and most important festival in China?

Then show some pictures about the Spring Festival and lead the topic.

(设计意图:通过头脑风暴法让学生从宏观上感知主题,随后展示与春节相关的图片,调动课堂气氛,带领学生快速进入课堂主题。)

Activity 2 Pair work

Discuss with partners: What do you usually do in the Spring Festival?

(学生自由回答)

(设计意图:运用交际法引导学生开口表达自己的想法,激发学生思考和学习兴趣。)

2. Learn more about the Spring Festival

Task 1 Do a quiz about the Spring Festival

(1) Show a quiz for the students to compete in groups.

(2)Ask the students to choose the right answers as quickly as possible, and the winners will be awarded with certain scores.

(设计意图:用知识竞赛课堂活动,增加课堂趣味性,促进小组合作学习,同时检测学生对春节的掌握程度。)

Task2 Grammar-filling

(1)Present a grammar-filling to show some customs about Chinese spring festival.

(2)Ask the students to fill in the blanks accordingly and check together.

It falls 1 the first day of the first Chinese lunar month and the celebration 2 (last) from the 23rd of the 12th lunar month up to the 15th of the first lunar month next year. Chinese Spring Festival, also 3 (call) Lunar New Year, has more than 4,000 years of history. Being one of the traditional Chinese 4 (festival), it is the grandest and the most important festival for Chinese people. It is also the time for the whole families to get together, 5 is similar with Christmas Day to the westerners.

(3)Ask the students to underline the key information of the text above and repeat loudly.

(4)Offer some possible answer: fall on; the first day; from 23rd of 12th month to the 15th of the first lunar month next year;has more than 4,000 years of history; get together.

(设计意图:让学生对重点信息进行归纳并复述该部分内容,提高学生提取信息的能力,锻炼学生的思维品格,为正确描述春节积累一定的素材。)

Step3 合作研讨

1.Group work:Discussion

(1) Ask the students to discuss in groups:How about the customs of the Spring Festival in your hometown?

(2) Ask the students to list some customs in Chinese and English on the blackboard.

(设计意图:通过讨论活动活跃课堂气氛,同时检测学生对家乡的春节习俗英文表达的掌握情况。)

2.Translation:word band

Ask the students to translate the following phrases and compete in groups.

年夜饭: the dinner on New Year's Eve

吃饺子:eat dumplings

穿新衣:put on new clothes;

拿压岁钱:get lucky money;

贴春联:paste Spring Festival couplets

(设计题图:通过小组竞争方式解决学生可能遗漏的词汇,对传统文化相关词汇知识的输入,进一步巩固学生对该话题词汇的掌握情况,构建学生的词汇银行。)

3.Play a guessing game.

Show some pictures and encourage the students to guess what the customs and activities are .

Step4 训练巩固Consolidation

(1)Finish a vocabulary test by translating the following phrases as quickly as possible.

(设计意图:经过上一环节的学习,学生对春节习俗的英文表达有了一定的积累,因此本环节主要是检测学生对该部分词汇的掌握程度。)

Step5 332 writing model

1.Show the students a possible version and ask them to discover the characteristics of 332 writing model.

2. The teacher check the students’ answer and summarize the characteristics of 332 writing model.

Step 6 Present the writing task:

According to what have been learnt in this lesson, write a letter to your foreign teacher and introduce the Spring Festival in your hometown with about 100words.

(设计意图:本环节进一步巩固和深化课堂所学关于春节的知识,用具体的写作任务对332写作模式进行实操。)

Step 7 Practice 332 writing model as a guidance.

1.Ask the students to write the passage into three paragraphs.

Paragraph1: The beginning of the letter——The purpose

Paragraph2: The body part ——Three key points are included.

Key 1: The time of the Spring Festival

Key 2: Before the Spring Festival

Key 3:During the Spring Festival

Paragraph3:The ending part.

(设计意图:引导学生对332写作模式的两个3理解和运用。)

2.Show examples on how to turn 1.0 version into 2.0 version.

(1)得知你对我们家乡的春节感兴趣,我写信告知你关于春节的相关事宜。

Translation:

1.0 version:I know you are interested in the Spring Festival.I would like to tell you something about it.

2.0 version: Knowing that you are very interested in the Spring Festival,I ’d like to tell you something about it.

(2)春节是我们家乡的传统节日,也是最重要、最受喜爱的节日。

Translation:

1.0 version: The Spring Festival is a traditional festival in our hometown.It is also the most important and enjoyable one.

2.0 version: Being one of the traditional festival in our hometown ,it is also the most important and enjoyable festival for Chinese people.

(设计意图:展示在具体写作中,如何将1.0版本升级为2.0版本。)

Step8 Homework

Continue to finish the left part.

教学反思:通过本节课的学习,引导让学生掌握本节课中学到的与春节相关的习俗表达及词汇、短语和句型,并且尝试运用332写作模式用英文正确地表达春节有关内容,在具体操作过程中,学生学习兴趣较为浓厚,但在具体翻译过程中易犯中式英语思维的错误。
